I am excited to join Grameen and to be working on communications and events projects in the Financial Services department. I was drawn to Grameen because it is an industry leader and I want to help the organization share its best practices. I have been working in nonprofit development and communications for the past five years with organizations such as HealthRight International, Community Access, The Brotherhood Sister/Sol, and Columbia University's Institute for the Study of Human Rights. I have a background in music and entertainment journalism and worked on staff and as a freelance editor for publications such as Vibe, Latina and Essence. I have a BA from Barnard in Pan African Studies, an MA from the New School in International Affairs, am originally from Bethesda, MD and have been living in Brooklyn since 1998.
